Fact-Checking Policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026

  • Primary sources first. Specifications, fleet numbers, routes, dates and rule changes are checked against regulator, manufacturer, airline or investigator publications.
  • Numbers are re-checked. Figures are verified by a second read before publication, with the currency and region stated.
  • Quotes are exact. Direct quotes are reproduced accurately and attributed.
  • Leaks and rumours are published only when we have reason to believe them, labelled clearly, and updated when confirmed or disproved.
  • Images are checked for authenticity and credited. Photos of aircraft are never presented as photos of a different event or aircraft.
  • AI-assisted drafts are fact-checked line by line by a human editor (see AI Use Policy).

If you believe we have something wrong, tell us at [email protected] with the subject "CORRECTION". See our Corrections Policy.
